Indecent Dale McLeod Guardian Life Ltd. Manager

To say the Mr Dale McLeod cares about his clients at Guardian Life Ltd. can be disputed. Maybe he has a lots of happy millionaires willing to give him millions of dollars to him in insurance premiums that has him in the position he is in now. To say he works very hard is an understatement but to call him a “nice guy” that’s stretching the truth. I don’t know how he makes his millions of dollars, nor do I really care. I DO care about how he is as a neighbour. The following is an account of an event that occurred on Saturday 19 May between the hours of 7 pm and 1.30 am Sunday 20.

Let me clear in the beginning. I am in no way AGAINST people throwing a party. BUT I am against people taking for granted that everyone else should be unwitting participants in said party for over an extended period of time! I think a party should be held at a decent hour, in a residential area mind you, and end at midnight. The music levels SHOULD not be concert level, (why does it HAVE to be?? its a HOUSE party for God’s sake!) and people SHOULD adhere to the EMA rules! But if wishes were fishes…

My children were staying with me this weekend and we were inside the house. My parents (who own the property) had left for church that evening. My neighbour alerted me to a car that had just left the scene to say that the driver had been calling at my gate for a while to tell me that Mr McLeod was “having a party” and that “they are sorry” but that the “music would be loud” and that’s it. In fact the music had ALREADY started since around 7 pm and it was LOUD. Here is a map of where my house is located and the direction the sound was coming from.

Also where I think the speakers were placed. You have to appreciate that we live in a valley (Pax Vale, Santa Cruz to be exact) and sound reflects all over. It is a KNOWN fact that these DJ’s do not understand sound (knowing how to DJ is also questionable) so when they set up speakers its one way and one way only. Face the crowd and acoustics be damned.

That being said we complained the first time at 8.30 pm and the music dipped for about 30 minutes. Then it went right up again to earth shattering levels. I have posted a video here to let you know how its sounded by 12 pm but a video gives no real effect.

Picture yourself in a box that is being hammered continually by a giant for hours. Now you understand how it feels, if only a little (or you can just imagine this sound being hammered at you for hours)

We called the EMA hotline (both numbers and the EMA itself) We were told by the Security Guard that she can’t help because she’s, well a security guard! And the hotline went unanswered at one point I left a very terse voicemail on the mobile phone number at around 11 pm. So the EMA was a waste of time.

Calls to the police station were treated with polite indifference. The patrol car was out, the police can’t do anything, if we go they will just turn back up the music when the police leave, and so on and so on. At midnight when we called for the 10th time the officer, though very nice, basically said we have no choice but to endure and when asked for his badge number, he declined and hung up the phone. TTPS in truth!

At 12.30 pm the DJ (we assumed) began berating “the neighbours” saying “we don’t care about allyuh, we are going till 6 am! YAH!” and My dad went back over but was rebuffed by Dale’s “bodyguard?” Telling him Dale was “indisposed” This is when I made the video and posted it. At about 1.20 am the music cut off in mid song and the party broke up. Exactly what happened at that time is a mystery, could it be that my sharing my plight on Social Media got back to him? I didn’t ask any questions. I went to bed.

My kids did not have a restful sleep and awoke many times during the night as the music intensified and then dropped in levels as the DJ tried to whip the crowd (from our vantage point, no one was even there, there were no people dancing, no one was doing anything, and it looked like it was just McCleod and the DJ!) into a “frenzy.” Very strange.

At this time I am going to report, for whatever good it will do, Mr Dale McLeod to the EMA and then deal with the Policeman who refused to give us his badge number. I seek help from the online community in sharing this post far and wide. I am also thinking of starting a website that will highlight this noise pollution problem. Just because you have money, Mr McLeod doesn’t give you the right to trample on the rights of others. Those who cannot hear (as a result of loud speakers?) will have to feel.

What also has me enraged is that no one else in Pax Vale, Santa Cruz on Flamboyant avenue seemed to have a problem. My neighbours slept soundly it seemed and the police said we were the only people to complain. I messaged a neighbour who lived on the other side and she said the noise wasn’t that bad on her side (possibly because his house shielded most of the sound and it was directed toward us anyway (see above) There was the 21north fete held in Drew Manor the weekend before that ALSO went on until 2 am and THAT was alos a huge nuisance for us, but the police DID say that other people in the community had complained and Drew Manor (Amanda Drew) said that they will not be holding an event like that in a hurry. (But when you need money, you will do anything, so that’s no real promise!)

I would like anyone in Pax Vale Santa cruz who was affected (and is affected by noise to contact me) I am going to be the champion against this thing. This will NOT happen again and if Mr McLeod trains his high priced lawyers on me, so be it. Wrong is wrong. Just ce will be served.

Dale McCloud of Guardian Life Ltd. sir you have no decency and I am calling you out. This will never happen again. You may have millions of dollars but right is right and wrong is wrong. You are wrong sir to put my family through this noise pollution for 6 hours!

I don’t think this works completely but nothing can beat this song. Love the Viking/Spartacus costumes, I think there needed to be a single idea to tie it all together though. My philosophy is when in doubt, take it out and there are a few things that are doubtful. (The bikini mas was OBVIOUSLY shot in a studio and that kind of threw everything off. You can see that they had the models for like a short time and everyone knows that its better to just leave it out if its NOT going to work.) But all in all, its a good video. Just not FANTASTIC imho.

With that in mind, I thought I’d share again my old project, Star Wars 1999, which re-imagines a prequel trilogy only using canon material before Lucas’s actual (awful) prequels were made. Also, the visuals are based almost entirely on Ralph McQuarrie’s early and/or discarded designs from the original trilogy.

In the spy-fi comedy short Spy vs. Guy, a spy needs to recover a piece of technology that accidentally fell into the hands of an unwitting pizza delivery guy. He pulls out every technological trick in the book—with increasing absurdity—but just can’t seem to win.

Seth Worley wrote and directed this short film for filmmaking software company Red Giant. It’s a clever film, filled with cartoonish hijinks.
